Gray Manis earned his Bachelor of Social Work degree from the University of Kentucky in 1995, and graduated from the University of Denver in 1996 with a Master of Social Work degree. He has been practicing as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker since 1999. He also have my certification as a Licensed Clinical Alcohol and Drug Counselor, and is a certified EMDR trainer, therapist, and consultant.

He was the Executive Director of The Shepherd’s House from 1998-2000, Director of Treatment Services at the Chrysalis House from 2000-2003, and was the Director of Outpatient Services at Ridge Behavioral Health System from 2004-2006. He recently retired as faculty of the University of Kentucky Department of Psychiatry, where he was serving patients and training psychiatry residents since 2006 as an Assistant Professor, outpatient therapist, and most recently, the Director of Substance  Use Treatment Services.  He is also a part-time adjunct instructor in the U.K. College of Social Work where he  educates future social work practitioners in providing trauma-informed and evidence-based trauma treatments.
