Professional Background:   Based in Louisville, KY, Dr. Bobbie Glass is openly transgender and serves many key roles.  She is an LGBTQ+ Diversity Trainer for both the largest public school district in Kentucky, as well as the state’s largest Teacher Preparation Program, and the U.S. Department of State’s International Visitor Leadership Program.   She is a 20-year veteran College Professor of Exceptional Child Education; Co-Director of the Transgender Wellness Coalition; a member of the LGBTQ+ Curriculum Development Committee at the University of Louisville School of Medicine; LGBTQ+  Subject Matter Expert to the board of the Childrens Home and Behavioral Health Services of Northern Kentucky, and serves on the Board of Directors of the Louisville Youth Group.  Over the past 12 years she has been a leading advocate and champion developing the LGBTQ+ medical, mental health and related services capacity of the Louisville area.   Currently she is assisting the ACLU and Kentucky Youth Law Project with their litigation against SB 150.

She recently took early retirement from the Jefferson County Public Schools where she taught middle and high school students who are hospitalized in the State Agency system of Childrens Residential Psychiatric Facilities …Facilities like Our Lady of Peace, Brooklawn and Maryhurst.  The number of LGBTQ+ adolescents hospitalized for attempted suicide and persistent self-harm because of the relentless bullying and their absolute hopelessness of ever finding happiness in this life has increased so rapidly over the past 5 years, that she decided last September to leave the hospital and go after the monsters who are putting them there.  She is also a Conversion Therapy survivor.
