Internal Family Systems

Join us for a 2 hour CEU on Internal Family Systems. Learn techniques that can be helpful when working with your clients/patients. 

 

Lynn has a private practice in Lexington and has been practicing as a Clinical Social Worker for thirty years. She loves her work and enjoys working with diverse clientele. Internal Family Systems (IFS) is a model that she began studying and learning about in 2008 as she supported  clients struggling with eating disorders. It has become a lifestyle practice for living and a framework in her practice with her clients to  promote self-understanding and awareness, and personal empowerment. She is Level 2 trained IFS Therapist and is a PA for Level 1 IFS Trainings for the IFS Institute. In addition to IFS, Lynn works with couples in the IFS framework – Intimacy From the Inside Out (IFIO). She practices and teaches Radical Self-Care Yoga to deepen connection to self and others. Lynn facilitates monthly SoulCollage® gatherings in the Lexington community. In her personal time, Lynn loves spending time with her family, gardening, running, dancing, mixed media and SoulCollage®. She has been married for over 30 years and has two adult children. This year she became a grandmother to Jules!

Internal Family Systems is a comprehensive therapeutic paradigm which views the multiplicity of the mind as our natural state and our parts as sub-personalities that may be healed and transformed by allowing Self to emerge as leader of the inner system.
Goals of Training
1) Introduce the basic concept of IFS
2) Increase awareness parts and Self in clients’ and therapists’ systems
3) An orientation of how to bring into sessions

Exploring concepts of Unblending and polarizations, direct access (explicit and implicit) Indirect
access, 6 F’s
Experiential (Manager Inventory or art)
How to begin to play with the model (explore a trailhead, map parts and contract to work with a part)
