After January 1, 2022 anyone who wants to provide supervision is required to take the 6 hour clinical supervision training. KSCSW is offering the new required 6 hour training.
I. Theoretical Foundations for Clinical Supervision
II. Practice Modalities, Techniques, and/or Approaches to Clinical Supervision
III. KY Rules & Ethics for Clinical Supervision Practice
IV. Evaluating Clinical Supervision
Presenters: Lella Still, MSW, LCSW & Carly Dickinson, MSW, LCSW
Lella has worked at Eastern State Hospital for the past 11 years, in both direct patient care and management roles. She is currently a DSW candidate at the UK College of Social Work Leadership/Administrative track with research interests in psychiatric hospital readmissions and employer drug testing policies. She believes that quality clinical supervision directly translates to quality client/patient care, but is hopeful that more research will be done in this area to de-mystify this process. Often operating from competency-based and developmental models to inform clinical supervision, Lella currently leads group supervision at the hospital.
Carly has been a clinical supervisor since 2013 and is celebrating her 10th anniversary as a social worker at Eastern State Hospital this month. She is passionate about serving individuals with severe mental illness and their families, and specializes in trauma, family work, and DBT. Her framework for clinical supervision is informed by both systems theory and anti-oppressive/antiracist approaches. Her favorite part of clinical supervision is assisting new supervisees with developing confidence in their own skills and abilities, encouraging self-awareness, and supporting good self-care.
